pinion remove ?
the screw on my pinion as going off when running and now the pinion it on the round spot on the motor and I cant remove it anyone know a trick ?
|
As a last chance resort just pry it off with a screwdriver.
if the setscrew is sticking up past the pinion a bit dremel a slot into the screw and use a flathead screwdriver to unscrew it. |
the screw was not there the pinion as turned itselft out of the flat spot on the motor and now dont want to remove

Don;t do the screw driver - get a pinion puller..

where do I can get a pinion puller ?

You could make a pinion puller. Get a bolt and nut where the bolt is smaller then the shaft. Attach something to the nut so it reaches under the pinion and you can turn the bolt to pull off the pinion. The reason you may not want to use a screwdriver is because it could damage the internals/can but putting pressure on it. Try to get the pinion off with some pliers holding only the shaft and the pinion.
OR with the pinion in a vise, tap the shaft with a bolt/rod and catch the motor on towels or something. |
