Crt.5 Brushless Motor !!!

I recently bought this and I plan running it on a feigao 8xl motor that I already own... and on 3s lipo... with a mamba max 1/10 esc.. should have no temps issues at all ? and good performances ? and does the diff & other drivetrain parts accept this sort of power without any trouble? I never owned a crt.5 before... ---->

yup the .5 is solid, hmmm i thought the 8xl was more of a 4s motor so i dunno if guys run them on 3s.... i would think itd do ok in such a light truck, but most of us run feagio 9L or medusa 3300kv.....

magman 05.20.2009 09:11 AM

I run a 3300 50 series Medusa in one and a 1509 Neu 3300kv in the other. Both w/good results

snellemin 05.20.2009 09:28 AM

The CRT.5 is a solid machine. Held up power of the medusa 4800, hacker 14.4 maxx, hacker c50 6L, even a 1515 tekno neu all on 5s A123. My son drives it now, so I toned it down quite a bit.

Pick up a medusa 50, or a neu 1509 and run that with the 3s.

I concur; the Medusa 50 is a good choice. Since I run 3s in mine, I use the 3300kv Medusa. Even with the small 50mm can, it stays cool and still provides enough torque for wheelies (depending on CD oil thickness of course). The Medusa is probably the cheapest yet quality motor you're gonna get for that vehicle. Note: I would NOT use any of the Castle MambaMax motors (even the 4600) because they just get too hot.

I know guys the medusa 36-50 3300 or the feigao 9L would the best bet but for the moment I cant afford it and only have a 8xl on my hand .. so it would work or .. ? ;)

for who running medusa 36-50 3330kv and feigao 9L on his crt.5 both on 3s geared for around 40mph what your runtime guys ?

Jason 05.23.2009 01:38 AM

I had an ls10 (very similar to a crt.5) and ran it on 3s with an mm and 8xl.

It had plenty of power to run whatever gearing I threw at it and never even got warm. Go ahead and run it, but watch temps. Mine was the finned version.........

Jason 05.25.2009 10:59 AM

thanks _paralyzed_ I will give it a try when I get my crt.5

and someone want to sell me this :

MEDUSA MR-036-060-2000V2-5 2000RPM/V 1.70A 0.006 920W 87A 105A 30V 36 x 60mm

shoud work perfect for a crt.5 ? running on 4s ? and can work without any troubles on a mamba max 1/10 esc since the maxamps of this motor are 105amps ... and mamba max rated 100amps ...

Jason 05.25.2009 08:10 PM

anyone ? I need to know for sure before to buy it

Jason 05.26.2009 07:44 AM

I think no then

Arct1k 05.26.2009 07:59 AM

Its a bit long but much better than the 8xl - should run fine on 4s.

Normally the 50's 4800kv for 2s, 3300kv 3s and 2200kv for 4s....

Personally I like the 3300kv as actually runs well on 2, 3 or 4s...

Jason 05.26.2009 08:02 AM

dont think my mamba max 1/10 esc would love it ... rated at 100amps and this motor can goes up to 105amps...
