Maxx transmission deleting

heyim curious if there is a "kit" out there to delete the big bulky maxx transmission.

Or if implementing a 1/8 center diff from another truck is in order?

thanks in advance

Mike is actually working (or was working) on a center direct drive unit for the Fastlane Emaxx chassis. I think he has only made a few as of this date. I think Harold and Skellyo each have one, and I have one (actually my truck is for sale).

yea i was actually looking at your truck when i thought of it! Would love to pick it up, but as a full tie student...i gotta be wise on how i spend my $$$

I was working on a custom truggy conversion for the maxx, but i never finished the project. So i picked up a FLM chassis not too long ago. waiting for it to get here:yipi:

Is he making a slipperential mount for the 3905 chassis? Or is there already a mount for the 3905 available?

suicideneil 08.11.2009 10:59 AM

Dont know & no.

It wouldnt take much to tweak the 3906 version though, just needs the mounting holes to be changed to match the chassis rails.

OT question: does adding a center diff reduce the offroad ability of a truck, at least theoretically? (similar to how f/r diffs hurt offroad ability)

david lamontagn 08.11.2009 11:42 AM

Definitly, a center diff will remove alot of off road bashing capability.
I've try the CD on my revo, and i've remove it, because for my driving style (sand pits) it was a big ZERO

But for racing, it's another world.
