Is my battery toast?

Hey guys i think my true rc 14.8 volt battery is toast.I can charge it on my
hyperion duo,it will take a full charge,each cell is reading 4.20 4.19 4.20 4,18
But when i put it in my losi 8 buggy and pull the trigger the car runs very
slow like it has no power.I check it with a volt meter and it read 16.6 volts.
I check all soldering joint and check my motor, everything is find.I tryed a
different battery, and it seems to work. Then i charged it again and put it
up for a while and check it with the volt meter and each cell was like
this,4.0 3.70 4.16 4.19 i think this batt it toast it was a little puff at one
time i ran it over greared ,temp was about 138.so what do you guys think?

The voltage checks okay when its fully chargered, but it sounds like a bad/weaker cell or two is stiffling the power output. 138*F is rather too hot, definately sounds like you cooked it slightly. Might be okay in a less demanding application, but otherwise you are probably better off binning it saddly.

You could also talk to linc he's seems to be the master of lipo cpr.

If it puffed, get rid of it. Although, if you have only one bad cell, you could reconfigure it as a 3s pack. Not ideal, but better than throwing the whole thing away...

Thanks guy but the battery bit the dust today, lucky i had it in a metal box when
i got back from work i went to check it out open up the lid and sure enough it went
poof! Man what smell.Lucky it was not fully charged it could have been worse.

One of my polyquest packs puffed up last summer, when I accidently used a partially charged 3S with a fully charged 3S... it was hot and puffed up like hell.. I left it in a box somewhere and just found it last week.. and I couldn't beleive it.. it was fine... I used it for the whole days Last Sunday for about 3 Charging/discharging cycles....

Trolling is a pop culture slang term for tripping and rolling...

Still your reality, as life is what you make it... Sounds like you hate yourself, and you use the drugs to alter yourself in a vain attempt to make yourself more acceptable to society. You need to free yourself from the self imposed fixation on acceptance from society.

Ahh, pop-culture... THAT'S why I had no idea!!!

So, he said the pack is toast. I think it would be delicious with a spoonful of marmalade.:na:
