How to extend the life of Revo pivot boots?
It is quit annoying that the dust boots are torn apart so easily.
There are 8 of them and I have to change them so frequently. Anyone has any ideas to keep them form breaking? Is it ok to leave the pivot balls alone and not using the boot? Thank you. |
I lube my pivot balls and boots with a silicone oil. A little on the pivot ball shafts where the boots contact will help the boot slide on the shaft and prevent tears when adjusting camber.
Alot of racers run without the boots because they do impact steering angle little bit. THere's no harm running without them if you clean your knuckles and pivot balls |
dont use them LOL
i gave up on mine on the fronts, but i use them on the rear (RPM true track) i reckon they would be better but with the sick power of hte ACE servo i run it just tears em off. i just keep mine clean w/o grease. (replace when they are fecked) shaun |
Just make sure they never get dry for a long period of time, that will dry out the rubber and make it easy to rip apart. It will also make little rips all over them.
I guess just oil them regularly. :) |
