most mah with nimh in nomadio react ?

hello again, i have a nomadio react, lipo is too much of a pain with the 6 volt max (thanks metalman) so back to nimh. anyone have an idea for the largest a mount of MAH with nimh and the 4.8 volts cap?

also is charging through the controller possible?

thanks

If you're gonna go NiMh I think the largest cell you can use is a AAA. It's been a while since I've seen the stock battery so that could be wrong.

Any NiMh can be charged through the TX, but as you can imagine it's gonna take longer with higher capacities.

i know aa and 2/3 a fit. mainly i was curious what others have done to increase run time. i've been ripping through alkaline batts like crazy

Couldn't you fabricate or find an enclosure the exact size of the base, put whatever batteries you want in it, and then attach that to the base? Would look funny, but the capacity would only be limited by the size of the enclosure.

i could, i was just looking for a creative battery pattern to increase my runtime.(the tray is an odd shape). but now that you commented can you run 6 batteries, 4 in series and 2 in parallel? i would assume that would not work but...

BrianG 05.29.2009 12:40 AM

4 series of 2 paralleled sets would be 8 batteries.

no no no keep some batteries in series(4) some in parallel (2) not 4s2p more like 4.5s.1.5p

So, you're saying basically 1s2p in series with 4s1p? Nope, that won't work. Well, it will technically "work", but the 4s1p part will discharge faster and you don't gain anything except maybe over discharged cells.

that's what i though.. worth a shot
thanks for having real knowledge:intello:
