7.5 Differential Kit, 6 Spyder Questions

Hey guys i have the UE 6 spyder diffs and i think they will gear my truck lower so can someone do the math and tell me what spur and pinion gears i need to use, i would like to stay where i am with the power and speed i have.

currently using what Novak suggest for gearing on the HV spur 70 and 14 pinion.

I hope it's not hard to install. :)

Yeah, the normal e-maxx diffs are 37/13 and the 6spiders are 43/13. You need a larger pinion, or a smaller spur.
a 12T pinion or a 82 spur. Eversince the spurs are not available that size, you'r better of getting a 12T pinion.

Serum, you contradicted yourself there.

He's running 14/70 right now. I think a 16T pinion shold take care of it.

Yeah, my mind is playing tricks on me.. ;)

Thanks! How do you guys figure that out anyway?

well you divide the pinion in to the spur and do the same for the diff gears and then multiple them by one another then take the new diff you are running and divide that into number you got by multiplying the old stuff.
70 divided by 14 give you a 5 to 1 ratio. with the diff ratio 37 / 13 give you 2.84 x 5 =14.23 divide that by the new diff you have 43 /13 =3.3
14.23 / 3.3 = 4.31 for you new spur gear ratio. Since you have 70 tooth spur just divide 70 by spur gear ratio 4.31 =16.21 so a 16 toothpinion

I'm not very good at math and that is confusing to me. Has anyone made a online calculator to figure this out? :)
