Stretched chassis revo based large scale on roader
 

As the title says this is a bit weird.

I took 2 revo chassis, a 2.5 and a 3.3, trimmed on up in front of the tranny area and had my buddy weld them up.

Wheelbase is about 20", stock revo track width. Not sure on the overall length or height of the body.

Not really sure what to power this beast with, maybe a MMM/2200 combo on 6s. I have a set of Mike's hybrid diff cups, and I will have rc alloys make me a rear driveshaft.

Not sure where the foams came from, think they are imex.

This will be interesting. Your buddy did a very nice job on the welds!

Thanks, He had to grind and fill them a bit, he said the al is not very high quality at all, almost like butter when heated up a bit. I had him sand blast the center section, but I plan to paint it all one color.

Any ideas on the color? I will probably paint the body black to match my lightning... Or blue as I like blue. May do a multi color paint job, this is big enough to tape up easily, and I can use automotive base coat and clear to seal it.

It should look funny blasting down the street at 55mph... Wind drag is going to be a big concern!

What does FTW stand for? Guess I could google it...

I could do a HV setup with a 1527 that I have laying around... I do not think it will need much more than a 1521 to be honest. The castle 2200 will be tested, on 6s the rpm is high enough that the gearing will not be too extreme. I guess we will see. I will start at 45mph and go up from there.

that is too cool! haha you have some too many projects on your hands now. so how tall are those tires? will this be some sorta onroad vehicle? oops never mind just read the thread title again. i guess it will be. and i must say, that welding job looks like factory. cant wait to see vids

Yup, that is your lst next to it.

The tires are about 5.5" tall. They use 14mm hex and have the least offset of any wheel tire combo I had. That is when I decided this would be a road vehicle.

Figure I can use P3 rockers, swaybars and some hard springs to get good consistent wheel control on pavement.

I will be making a roll cage of sorts out of brake line to support the body. Make it match the roof and bed to support the body if it rolls. I will also make hidden bumpers/body mounts for the front and rear for addl support.

You should have kept both the chassis' diff mounts, and ran two 2200 combos, each on 5 cell. That would have been crazy! :party:

The foams are surprisingly sticky, plus I can always put some traction compound on them! The chassis will probably just get painted whatever color we are spraying the day I decide to paint it...
