Ofna 51 spur and slipper kit ?

Back ground. Emaxx, 9L BL motor feirgo, and 9920 controller, ultramaxx idler, rd logic cvds and UE center cvd, 5mm pinion gear

If I order the nylon 51 tooth spur and slipper kit...

1. do I need to purchase the sprong kit for it to work? they are currently out of stock thats why.
2. if I do end up getting the sprong with the kit later is this set up really good where I PROBABLY wont need to buy another spur gear again?
3. or will it be like the stock spur and burn up?
4. just want to know how to get a good spur....
any suggestions?

The Sprong isn't necessary, though it is nice. As soon as Strobe makes them, I will be sure to have them again. The Ofna spur and Strobe slipper is a much more durable setup than the stock setup, and allows some tuning as well. If you eliminate a bad spur gear mesh( including flex, which causes bad mesh), the ofna spur will last a very long time. It is MUCH stronger than a stock 32 pitch gear.

As a new guy here, I am looking at a similiar E-Maxx set up 9920 with Wandered 8XL running 12-14 cells. What all do I need to order for the strobe slipper to get it installed?

The strobe slipper, ofna 51 tooth spur gear and a mod1 pinion are what you will need, along with four 3mm screws to attach the spur to the Strobe slipper.

You need the stock pressure plate and spring to. Just to make sure you have them.

Is the Strobe slippers any better than the Robison Racing slipper kit? they look somewhat similar.

Another question. Do I need the notched slipper rings to make the Strobe kit fit in the maxx?

The Strobe is much better than the Robinson slipper, for a couple reasons. First, the spur gears are MUCH tougher. Also, the Robinson slipper is pretty inconsistant and not up to the task of a high powered beast.

The strobe replaces like the stock spur gear and slipper pegs. All the other stuff you need. The little notched plated yes. The ablity to hold and take the some slippage is much better with the strobe. It is money well spent in a hi power system.
