Jet Ski
Anyone else ride stand-up jet skis or jet skis in general? I bought a 1990 Superjet.. this is my first actual ski. I am kind of excited to go play.. is it 5 yet?

I like to take my cousin's 2007 Yamaha 1100 4-stroke waverunner. I love the holeshot action of the 4-stroke engines. Its a blast!

I have (well shared with my brother) a 2001 roundnose superjet with a Factory B pipe, bilge pumps, footholds, and a purple Riva ride plate. Super Jets are really fun and fun to work on. They are really reliable and powerful skis. You have a 650 in there I believe though. If you ever plan to do modding, a 701 would be one of your best investments for it. It will really waken it up.
If you have any questions about your Supa Jet, I will gladly help with anything. |

Saweet thanks.. It actually already has the 701 in it and a Riva pipe and couple of other things.. It is not the prettiest but it isn't much difference between it and the newer skis which are a lot more..

I don't have any, but ride them in the summer at least a couple times usually. I'd either borrow them from friends and go with them, or just rent them. Either way, they are definitely a blast to ride. I have to say that I like snowmobiling more though.

We use to have a 1996 Bombardier XP. Thing was crazy. sub 400lb fully fueled, 800cc 2 cylinder (inline) 2 stroke pumping out 110hp. The thing went from idle speed (3mph) to 60 in about 3 seconds on flat water. I remember when i was younger (and the thing was new) I use to get sore from holding on when my dad was piloting because of the accelerational forces. In the 10 years we had it (96-06) and all those years out on the lake, never have we lost a race with it.
It's too bad though, with the crack down on emmissions, the era of lightweight 2 strokes is over. |
that brings us to the new age of the turbo charged and super charged 4 stroke motors.. I think are just as cool and a lot less temper mental.. they are heavier but they have the power to make up for it.. My next sled\snowmobile might be a 4 stroke...

Yes they very well do have lots of power, and especially torque, to make up for the loss in speed. Although the supercharged skis are nice, pretty well suck in reliablity.
We are taking our Supa Jet out today, tomorrow, and Sunday. Its going to be a blast especially because we have a Kawi STX-15F as a chase ski and wave maker (very fun). I cant wait. The water here is pretty nice here at Lake Michigan right now too. |
My buddy has about a 2007 Kawasaki 800 stand up model, and it just flat out hauls. Not many people go for the stand ups any more, but they are a lot of fun. more work to ride, but once you get it, it feels pretty cool!
