LVC for Villain EX...

Hey guys, I'm getting some Turnigy lipos for my Villain EX, and I need an external LVC for it because obviously the EVX does not have it. What should I get, and where from? thanks.

You can get an alarm type at crapamps or at hobbycity they have a "lipo monitor" with leds. Green means it's above 3.3v and red means it's under 3.3v. I use that with my micro T, and it work great. I'm not sure how it'd work on a boat though..

Hmmm, I don't think you'll be able to hear a buzzer in the villain, it's quite loud when running, and under a cover as well.

Aren't there actual lvc cutoff's you can buy that are external? If not, I could just do it by time after checking with eagletree data.

Novak makes their smart stop modules for 2-3-4s lipos. Mike used to sell a li-saver, which automatically figured the number of cells when you plugged it in and would do a 3v per cell cutoff. Someone else makes an external lvc, just can't remember who...

Li-saver, right I remember that now. Too bad.

I might just do it by time, I rarely use two full 5s A123 packs, and those are roughly 8 mins full out.

FYI about the Novaks: they tend to be a bit sensitive so any brief dips in voltage below LVC point will trigger it. I added a small cap to help absord those brief dips and seemed to avoid false triggers yet allow it to cut out when the voltage legitimately reached the LVC point.

IIRC Cellpro has one as well

K, thanks guys. I'll see what I can find, and where I can find it.
