joining the lst bandwagon

Swapped my bl e-revo, batts, and some cash for this jewel and the other. Pretty much his pride and joy, pretty substantial amount of money spent on it. Has carbon plate, anod skids, all rpm arms, alum knuckles/hubs, hard anod shocks, jr z9000t servos in the steering and throttle (little overkill there!), ti-ni gears, ti turnbuckles, .26ss, jammin jp-3 pipe. Also came with a TON of extra parts. The truck is super clean. I ran a couple tanks through it today, didn't die on me once, almost hate to tear it down, almost. I have a mmm/2200, but kind of wanting a medusa 36/80/2000. I won't be able to order the conversion stuff for it unitl I sell/part out the other one truck. It was his runner/basher, but in pretty good shape, runs good and all but going to have to go.

Don't worry about switching to the medusa. Stick with the CC2200. I run it in my LST2 conversion without a flaw. Even geared in the truck for 60 on 6s the motor never went over 145 in 90+ degree heat and 90+ percent humidity.

The CC2200 is a champ. I have it geared back down for 50 which is better for me in my opinion and everything stays nice and cool.

I was very impressed with the 2200/MMM combo on 5s in one of my lsts. Great performance and great temps...

My LST2 should be here at the middle of the week. I'll be running a MMM/2200 combo in it on 5s as well, geared for about 45-50mph. I can't wait!!

I'll probably try the TDR mount, or take a stab at making my own...

TexasSP 06.07.2009 10:48 PM

TDR mount all the way. That thing is just awesome. Setting gear mesh has never been easier on anything else I have ever owned.

Yup well worth the money. The Dude turns out some nice stuff. I use his mount and 1 speed hub with rcm pinions on the 63t TIN coated spur. Perfect gear mesh and the rcm pinions are not wearing one bit. Very impressed with that as my lst is heavy and powerful.

Yep, pretty sure I'll be using the TDR mount! Gear meshing is just too simple with that thing. I'll probably use his hub too...

Really anxious to beat up on this LST!

same here, getting the dude's mount, and hub, havn't decide to go with the collet adapter, or buy a few new pinions.

If you can do gearing with 25t pinions or less go with the rcm hardened pinions. If you have to run larger than 25t pinions, say you plan to run a low rpm motor or want alot of speed, go with the tdr colleted adapter and Mike's 2 speed 2nd gear screw on pinion, he has them up to 30t.

I have the tdr adapter modded to fit one of my 8mm shaft 1527 motors. Nicely made, just like the rest of his stuff.
