FLM Aluminum Hex Nut for Rusty/Pede. Pin size?
Hey all... I lost one of the stub axle pins that came with my FLM Ext dogbone kit. I called FLM and Regina said that she'd send me some more. So, she sent me two pins. But I'm always changing wheels, etc, and lose them quite a bit when I take the hex nut off. She said not to hesitate to call her if I needed more.
Well... I need more, and have called twice in two weeks and have heard nothing. I hate having to depend on someone for something I need. The biggest problem is, the traxxas 12mm stub axle pins #2754 fit, but they are not LONG enuff, and part #4955 for the Maxx trucks is long enuff, but too fat. The ones that fit the Pede do not give you any specs as to what size they are. The Maxx ones are 2.5x12mm. So I'm assuming they are 2.5mm thick, and 12mm long. If that is the case, than perhaps these would work for the FLM Alum hexes: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFKC7&P=7 It's weird that the FLM Hexes take such an odd sized pin, but they do. And if I knew what size they were, I wouldn't have to rely on calling FLM a million times! FYI... I broke the FLM turnbuckles on the left side of my Pede the other day in a wicked crash. I LOATHE those FLM turnbuckles anyway. They have a hole in them for adjusting, not a raised hex shape you can get a wrench on. They broke at the adjustment hole, which is quite a shock  That being said... I am not bashing FLM by any means. They have great products. Their buckles leave something to be desired, and their customer service is GREAT if you can actually get the ball rolling. REM blows them away in all aspects if you ask me, but they don't make buckles! J |
Dear Jpoprock,
You rock, so hard. Love, jpoprock As if anyone cares... and apparently they don't.... Regina at FLM never returned my call. And in case you ever lose the axle pins they provide w/ the CVD kits... the HPI pins do in fact WORK. They are the only ones that I have found that will. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...9&I=LXFKC7&P=K |
I don't know if you have LHS near you but if you do they should have a Piano wire/spring steel wire display ?
I buy the wire in the diameter of the pins I need and cut up a bunch to have as spares. The wire depending on diameter is usually under a dollar for a 3' peice, Lots of pins ! |
I just use 2 regular pins in mine and been working great for a long time.
