best body clips

i lose body clips pretty often. are they better ones out there besides the stock ones. what do you guys use or do?

rawfuls 06.10.2009 08:05 PM

I use my HPI ones, pretty solid, rarely bend, and when they do bend, you'll need pliers or vice grips to get em off the posts.

I also use the silicone zip tie trick, and use neon green, so if I lose em in the street, I can just look for something bright ass green.

Currently need to use up my dark yellow, dull and pretty cheesy color if you ask me.

+1 on the HPI ones. VERY tough and as posted require vise grips to straighten out.

what is the silicone zip tie trick. and my clips dont bend... they just pop out when i crash or do a flip/roll

brushlessboy16 06.10.2009 09:28 PM

I use any I can find with body washers to prevent bending.. also the body clip lasso's are life savers.

There are the Dubro Clip Savers, and the simple pull ziptie thing.

PM sent back.

are those dubro body klips those wires i see in people's rc bodies where they have this colored string going from one clip to another?
is this for when a clip pops out, it wont be lost because its still connected to the other clip?
they sell locking body clips, how are those? they cost $2 for 4 or i can get 12 normal clips for $2. i wonder which will save in the long run.

rawfuls 06.10.2009 09:51 PM

No, the Dubro Body Clips are used to be pushed into the body, this saves the clips from escaping the body, so even if both of them get loose, and pop out, they will be held onto the body by the elastic.

Wow, 100 for $6. Who cares if you lose them:tongue:

rawfuls 06.10.2009 11:40 PM

I know!
That's what I was thinking when I bought 3 packs of 20 for $4 each.

Thought I could just put em on, and forget about em, a pack later, here I am, regretting not caring where they went.

Time to order up on those 100 for $6.

HPI ones. Only lost one and that was on my first day driving the Flux on concrete and I had it backwords. Those suckers stay on good and are damn near impossible to take off by hand, which is good.

blueb8llz 06.11.2009 12:59 AM

hahah 100 for 7 shipped thats a straight deal! but those dubro body clips sounds cool. even if both gets popped out, they will still stay clinged onto the body by that elastic thingy. i just dont know how that elastic thingy clings onto your body in the first place.
kindy pricey tho. 5 bucks for just two, so 10 bucks for four....does this mean i will never lose a clip again?

and are these the hpi ones you guys are all talking about?they seem small for a monster truck.

You drill a hole in your body, and push a little knubby down through the body.

blueb8llz 06.11.2009 01:29 AM

ahh ic. cant i just tie a string from one clip to another. and not have it attached to the body. cus whats the chances of both body clips popping out. its rare for me at least.
