Novak GTX cutting out

I recently bought some 7 cells off of an eBay store. They are Tenergy 3800, they are for a slash I was setting up for my cousin. I tried these batteries in my XXXT and when I give it full throttle they esc stops and shuts off until i let off and back on again... If I hold it up off the ground it will let me go full throttle. If i plug in the 2s lipo it runs without a problem. I can't figure out where the problem is.. is there something wrong with the batteries or does it a programming issue?

You can always email tech@teamnovak.com with questions.

It does sound like it could be a battery issue. Running it in the air places much less load on the batteries so the voltage will stay higher.

Do you have another battery to try? Also, look over your connections (dirty, bad solder joint, etc)

Yea.. I wonder if it is the soldering maybe. I am using a cable to convert it to deans.. I might have to spend the money and just convert everything to deans... I was trying to cut corners and save 10 bucks.. lol

If there is an LVC, shut it off. NiMH don't really need one. If you have it set up for the 2s lipo then that's why it is cutting out. The NiMH drop much more than a lipo under load.

I had thought about that but I thought since it was 8.4v and a lipo was only 7.2 it wouldn't make a difference..

The 8.4 goes down quick. It's only a peak voltage from the NiMH charge cycle. Actually both batts are 8.4 fully charged. The only difference is current handling ability

Thanks.. I will try that.. Need to download the manual now.. I just got the GTX used in a truck..

+1 to What's_nitro?'s solution.
