does anyone have the HD diff cups for the 8ight?

I was wondering if the case itself was made of metal. it says it has metal inserts, but someone at another forum said the case wasn't. does anyone know for sure?

The case itself is plastic. The inserts are metal, and so is the bushing.

Ditto in the cup being plastic, I put these in my (2)LST2's in January and there still holding up to 5s & 7.5" tires and a heavy trigger finger !

that's good to know. i'm hoping they're alot more durable than the stock cup cause i blew a hole in it the size of a dime yesterday, and i have no idea how it happend.

i ended up getting the nova-rc T6 aluminum diff cups as well as the HD losi's for backup. i can't imagine sending another planetary shaft through T-6. thanks for the help guys.

The Nova cups work very well, I wore out a set in each of my trucks. Grooved the cup from the pin, I replaced them with the HD plastic ones due to expense. Was half the cost, but so far so good ?
The Nova cups lasted about a year with constant abuse, worthy investment !

good to know, it would be awsome if i could get a year out of the nova cups. So far so good.

I should clarify, They lasted about a year with running 4s.

i don't run all that much. there are no tracks here, so all i use them here for are speed runs...no jumping or bashing, and this was only on 6S.

the more i think about it, i think what ultimately blew that dime sized hole in my 1.0case was a cartwheel i did with very little diff material inside the diff. it probably jarred the pins into the case and broke it that way. i had only run it about 10 times. i normally run with a center diff packed with play-dough as i like alot of acceleration. it had been due to be changed out.

I made sure to pack the nova case alot better this time. i can't see this problem if i'm using aluminum. if it does happen again i'll eliminate the planetaries all together and just jbweld the center diff together. :gasp::lol:

I have the nova cups in one of my lsts, and put the losi hd cups in my muggy and the 6x6 lst. So far all are doing fine, but I think I prefer the losi hd cups, as the inserts are closer to the material used for the shafts, and should not wear as fast. Plus the losi cups are lighter, and that is always a plus with electric rc (and rc in general).
