Current Failure Rate Percentage

I'm defending the MMM Combo on a local track forum, and would like to use the latest failure rate as part of my arguement. I've saw some figures posted some months ago and even though they are way out of date it would be better than nothing but I can't find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Even a new figure if Patrick still posts here. My 2200kv MMM combo is still going strong.

From the local people to me I'd say it's a 30-40% failure rate on the V3, I'm at the point now where I am seriously considering taking the MMM out of the Savage Flux and throwing in a Hobbywing 150A, I was a longtime Castle fan, have had the original 1/18th ESC, then 3-4 Mamba Maxes, a couple of Sidewinders, but since the deals with HPI and Traxxas I just feel the service isn't there anymore, email replies are slow if any and turnaround times on repairs seem to be ever increasing. It's a real shame IMO.

I've had two MMMv3 and two failures. That's 100%, I have been waiting ever so patiently for my second one to come back now for almost 7 weeks. They have not kept me informed as of the status, and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see it again.

the fail rate is less than 1% just think how many are out there. i have never had any buff with the cc service they always get what you need back to you in a matter of no less than a month. now if we could just get neu's sevice to par with castle's

Yeah, our slow customer service is more due to the fact that Joe has been out for three weeks. It always gets slow this time of year, but Joe's absence has made it that much worse. Sorry about that!

It really doesn't have anything to do with HPI/Traxxas --

Pdelcast 06.16.2009 01:01 PM

Oh, and BTW -- the return rates on the MMM are fairly low, considering how many we make, how many people abuse them, and how many are damaged after a battery pack or motor fails.

Allow me to celebrate having Patrick come to one of my threads... :party::party::party: :smile:

Great, but I saw not too long ago you put up some numbers like percent battery failure, percent this and percent that. HEHE can I see that again... I can't find it. I noticed how remarkablely positive it was.

Thanx,
Zack

PS
Thanks for an awesome overkill system that is afforable! I run mine hard but I run it right! Also I emailed Joe a few questions at Christmas when I bought my system and he got back to me within hours! Get him back in the shop!:na: But more importantly give that man a raise! :lol:

LOL, I'm just a lowly engineer here. :whistle: :wink:

e-mike 06.16.2009 02:05 PM

anyway...the pourcentage is certainly lower vs the% of guy's who abuse the system:whistle:and the% of unit built/running<

and me too i will always defend castle...they have good products/customer service...slowly but its normal we are in summer time< and a lot abuse their system:lol:=more failure/crash system and castle have to make a lot for traxxas/hpi+the installion of the new robot arm:yes:

this is the reason why im still holding on to my mmmv1. its still performing great! ive only had one fan break on me and since ive put that mesh/grill over the esc to cover debris, its been flawless. dont get me wrong....sooner or later, i WILL exchange it for the newer version..maybe a v4 by then haha.

PDELCAST- i heard a while back, there is no warranty or return expiration date for all V1 mmm's. so will i still be able to exchange it even after say....2 years from now?
2 reasons why i dont want to exchange it right now is because it may take a while for me to get my new one.
and the other reason is because its still working and id rather return it if or when it breaks...like what if my new one breaks...and my v1 was still working, id feel pretty dumb.

and i was happy to pay the $70 for the v3 that i shorted on my rx line :oops::whistle:

Andrew32 06.16.2009 04:21 PM

id say low. just like everyone else said...there are alot out there.

I think whats adding to so many failures lately is that traxxas and HPI are RTR's....they = noobs. LHS want to sell them for larger profit.

rtr=noob
noob=mistakes
mistakes = angry forum flaming
angry forum flaming = noob!

WOW i just made math

thats what i like to hear! in that case, im not gonna send my v1 in until it breaks. i do like the newer versions though only cus it send out 6v to the servos instead of 5.5v...is this true

phatmonk 06.16.2009 04:53 PM

I have a V2 that I used sunday in my GTP 3S 8000,Neu 1515.5Y 4400 kv and the battery overheated before the MMM v2 did and the MMM never did overheat.I would have expepected the MMM to get hot 1st.Now I realize this setup can potentialy kill my MMM and battery but its so freakin fast.I was 1 of the 1st to even get a MMM1 and it failed but CC did right by me.But still I monitor my vehicles setups to be sure of no failures.
