Possible to use the plastic 8ight-e spur on a nitro conversion?
I tried to do this and it seems there must be some minor differences when using the nitro versions as the center diff / spur just rubs against the rear diff mount and sets out of place.
Thoughts or ideas? Did I do something wrong? hmm... wish it were drop on :( |
If I understand you correctly, you are wanting to run the plastic losi spur on a nitro? IMO very bad idea, the motor is mounted to the chassis and allows it to flex seperately from the center diff, you would strip your spur after the first hard landing, also the reason you run a looser mesh on a nitro. On the electric conversions the motor mounts to the center diff housing allowing them to flex together.

I run the Tekno v3 8ight-t (brushless).... this is setup using all the "nitro" parts. I wanted to use the plastic spur with it, I'm sure it would be fine if it would fit :(

Got rid of those junk clutches a while ago... I'm sure the new versions are better but I had two motors throw bearings due to breakage on the old elektri clutches. Tossed them all and I will be staying w/ the long shank pinions thank you :)

I use an 8ight e plastic spur on my brushless muggy. I had to put two spacers in the center diff mount to keep the spur from rubbing but it works great!

i use a dremel or sandpaper to grind the gear a little thinner while it is spinning. if it won't spin at all, just use sandpaper until it will. then, grind it while spinning with a dremel to get a tiny bit of clearance. that is what i did with my matrix and my crt x2.
