A new cheap 1/8 rtr brushless buggy
I ended up exploring nitrorcx a bit after a link was posted to an item and found this buggy. http://www.nitrorcx.com/exrc1brsufar.html Underbody shots can be found in the videos BTW
The buggy itself looks heavily based (copied?) on the Ofna LX series (the front knuckles+arms, steering bellcrank, shocks+towers are most blatant to me), with an EZ-Run 80A combo. I'd rather see the 150a version in there, but if the chassis durability was comparable to other 1/8ths it could be a good entry level 1/8 for some, especially considering the price. Spec class anyone? |
Looks just like the Caster. Without the mud guards.

Looks like this one... The original version used twin packs - I believe this is the final design...

Exceed also has a nitro truggy that appears to be based on the same buggy components. So it would be reasonable to assume they'd eventually offer an electric truggy too. Edit: Arck1k is probably right as they do say it's a preproduction, but why do they say it's sold out and will be availible in a week? Wierd. |
These Chinese brands (Amax, Exceed etc) are all made in the same factory and sold in slight variations through the seemingly endless seperate brands
A friend and I (he does a lot of business through China) considered buying a mixed container load and making some quick cash... we didn't do it because we couldn't get to the manufacturer We did however run a few of the Amax branded 1/10 buggies, TC & MT to see how they'd last. Great value for the pittance they cost however when compared against the established brands, it's no contest. Plastic and self-tapping screws is how I'd describe the 1/10 range!! Drivetrain components are mostly interchangeable accross the models, chassis, arms etc are slightly different lengths The BL buggy completed the biggest all-or-nothing jump I've ever seen...full throttle off a 60' high gravel mound with a kicker lip (at a sand mine), travelled 40' away from the mound, landed and drove away...a few self tapper screws that hold the F/R to the chassis stripped but it was a big, big jump The 1/8 range was just being introduced at that time but they weren't willing to ship samples of those...I probably still have all the pricelists, parts lists etc if anyones interested |
