Tekno v3 8T 1.0 Questions
hey guys, my Tekno V3 kit came in for my 8T 1.0 race roller, i had been using the losi electric conversion kit till it came. Couple things. First off since it was only 69.99 and they had been outta stock on the kit for my Castle Mamba Monster 2200kv motor, i ordered the 44mm kit instead because i remember that you can send in the mount to get the one you need. Can anyone please confirm this, and or give me the info needed to do this. I have the 44mm need the 42mm or can i use the 44mm on the castle/neu motor?
Next. Since i have to losi electric conversion i was wondering if i should combine certain aspects of each of the kits? example being the CNC'd center diff mount. and the battery tray. etc... Thoughts on what i can use and shouldnt use between the 2 kits? Also what are the major difference between the 8t 1.0 race roller chassis and the tekno v3 chassis? thoughts, suggestions etcc welcome! |
You CAN use the motor in the larger mount. It is just like the mounting from the Losi diff mount (screws in the front end bell). Only problem is that it won't have the extra support from the rear end.
Just go to the Tekno RC website and look at the product page for the item you want. It should list the information you need for the exchange. Or you can also contact them by e-mail or phone as well and they will let you know the details. I would not try to combine any elements of the conversions. This would defeat the purpose of the Tekno chassis. It is drilled and milled to accept the parts it came with. Adding any Losi parts would require you to drill/modify and would add no real benefit. The Losi battery tray sits 10mm higher than the Tekno one (heaviest part is the battery) and you wouldn't want to send your CG up higher. I hope you try the clutch/brake bias, as it is what really sets the two conversions apart. If you are driving on a track, than this will be a big benefit. Good luck/Good fun! |

out of curiosity how do u have your 8T geared? |
I run 14/48 currently, but have run 15/48 as well. My home track is medium to large in size so the 13/48 kept topping out early on the straights. I use the 48 tooth spur on both my buggy and 2.0 truggy.

im running 15/48 now and getting 130ish temps on the motor after some hard bashing track times.
