if your creating that much heat with a 2200, anything besides a true neu, plettenburg or maybe a medusa will just be even hotter.

Im generating heat because of my gearing which im correcting.

you are the one with 4100 post. i post a question as they pop in my head. you dont have to read them. or answer them.

If you need a backup motor, best to go with the identical motor, as your gearing will need to be different, as will your esc settings if you go to a different motor. You might as well have a complete backup truck at that point.

a feigao XL would work nicely if you've corrected your gearing. i use an 8XL sometimes in my FLM-Maxx which weighs about 12 pounds and i can run it through a whole pack without overheating. they're incredibly powerful 2 pole motors, but need to be geared on the low side to stay cool.

I would change the gearing first, to get a real temp reading then decide what to do from there.

I have 4100 posts in two years. do the math.

Im not saying you post to much, just saying make a general thread about your 8ight t and associated questions instead of making 20 little ones- it clutters the forum.

align 600xl outrunner with approx 1700 kv, (looks like an inrunner), heli motor, and a bit bigger with about 1280 kv. you can get them new on egay quite cheap, cos folks replace them with high-end motors. I had one (until one crash) on 5s, for that money a good motor. it's not to of the shelf-stuff, but at least better then the pink motors on hking. here in germany they get sold at about 30-40,- euro.
