Too Much load??
Just got an email from bk saying my 9920 smoked due to 'too much load' could someone clarify what this means.
Thanks, |
It sounds as if the gearing was to high, driveline bind or just to many amps being pulled thru esc. What where you running on it? Cells gearing tires
|
Most likely they are stating that too much current was required by your vehicle, meaning that the amps of the controller couldn't keep up with the demand.
This could be due to quite a few things, but the most common are: Gearing - you may have been geared incorrectly for the motor/esc/tire combo. Drivetrain sticking/binding - disengage the motor and make sure the vehicle rolls freely. If it doesn't, start investigating the bearings and axles and diffs and find out what is binding. I just noticed that coolhandcountry replied while I was typing :) We're both saying the same thing, heh. |
Well ive paid for it to be replaced, im going to put it in my e revo, it was geared 20/66, 7xl in a emaxx
|
That seems a little hi geared. I have ran that as well but heat issues come around. I would fall back some on the gearing like a 16 66 or so. Depends on the cells you are running to. and the tires.

I got proline bow ties on velocitys, dnt worry about temps, in britain its like 5'oc at present, and my hv maxx runs fine on 18/66 gearing!!
Thanks, |
I run that 20/66 & 7XL. Although Bowties/Velocitys and Maximizer gears.
No heat problems. |
20/66 is fine on the gearing. I would look for another problem, such as a bind in the drive train or a motor issue of some kind. For 12 cells, that should be a pretty smooth, cool running system.

Maybe gear mesh or bearing issue? - justaguess..
