Which one of these rims will work with Badlands?

Ok, im pretty much settled on what tires i'm upgrading to on my Savage Flux. But im really confused from these rims from JConcepts. What exactly is the difference between the "Half ups" 3310 model and the "non" Half ups 3308 model?

Any clarification would be great so I can get these ordered on Monday at my LHS.

3310 looks like it's for LPR tires. I have the regular Rulux wheels with baddies mounted up on them and they fit perfect.

I just ordered a set of 3310's to go on some regular mt losi zombie's. If they won't go then I'm going to pick up some badlands. It really isn't what its made for, but from what I read it does work. I guess the popular thing to do is stretch the mt badlands on the half ups. Gives the height of the mt tire, but shortens up the sidewall some, and looks pretty cool. If you search "rulux badlands" on the traxxas board you can find some pics of how they look.

3311s are for LPR size tires, like the AKA truggy tires.

However, you can cut the Badlands to fit LPR size wheels and I think it looks pretty good...

How did you cut them down to fit?

ZippyBasher 06.30.2009 06:46 PM

Dude you cut em' ? I just mounted them on the inside lip and it does the same thing... LPR Badlands.

nitrostarter 06.30.2009 07:57 PM

Yeah, most people just stretch them on and then glue the inside lip down.

gtxracer 06.30.2009 08:36 PM

Yep, cut them with the body scissors. Measure the difference in rim sizes, divide by two (since it's a circle), then measure that on the tire and cut the excess. VIOLA! LPR badlands. I don't like the stretch and glue method. For one thing, that totally defeats the main purpose of mounting badlands to LPR rims - tire ballooning! LPR rims have a bigger sidewall so there's less flex. Keeping all the side and then mounting it that way isn't very efficient or wise. Eventually the tire will rip off the bead, even with the best glue job. Plus they are MUCH more liable to ripping if you stretch them on. Don't they look horrible to boot?
