Well, let's see. In the last couple of months, we have released our new platform, Ballistic Mod wind motors, 5 Havoc Spec/Sport systems, Goat Crawler 3S esc, SmartBoost for 1 cell racing, The Dig for Dual Crawlers, a buncha rotors, and soon the Ballistic Spec wind motors.

After these releases, we still have more cool stuff in the pipeline....

thats what i was getting at. stuff that can keep up with the mmm and rx8. i have seen hardy any changes in novaks 1/8th scale lineup the hv pro is just a hv maxx with a few extra goodies. lets see some nice 1/8th sensored systems:yes:
im in the market:whistle:

Any 6s+ controllers in the works with motor kvs to match?

Also, this is more of a design question, but it seems the current HV series stuff is designed to run at high rpms. Is there a particular reason for that decision? Being sensored, I would think that lower rpms would be just fine, and there would be less strain on parts (bearings, rotor, etc) if it was spinning at the typical 35-40k rpm range. Not knocking your stuff or anything, just curious.

Yes we have been working on a new platform for our 1/8 Buggy/Truggy market for about the last six months. We are in the early stages of testing and things are going well. We will be offering a brand new Speed control with some unique new features and at least two sizes of motor with various Kv ratings that will meet the Roar specs. I can't give a definite delivery date but it will be some time this year.

Very good to hear, i liked my uv maxx until it fried in an e-revo. A true 1/8 system from novak would be welcome, more competition, hopefully good prices.

The reason the HV motor has such high Kv's is that it is a three slot motor and three slot motors are by their nature higher Kv motors. A 12 slot motor will have about 1/4 the Kv of a 3 slot motor. The bigger 1/8 motors out now are all 12 slot motors. They are more time consuming to wind and there for more expensive. The new motor that we are working on is also a 12 slot motor.

Good news! Watching "The Big 3" compete for dominance in the 1/8th market is going to be good. :yipi: Tekin has a good lead on you guys but there are a lot of loyal Novak fans that will be very pleased to get their hands on a more powerful system. No offense but the current HV systems just aren't up to par with the options from Castle and Tekin, I have no doubt the new ones will put up a good fight.

nitrostarter 07.02.2009 10:29 AM

More competition usually means lower prices.... YAY!
