My Tekno 8B 1.0

I had a Jammin CR and decided to try out the Losi 8ight B. I'm thankful I did and I'll never look back. In fact Losi has probably become my mfg of choice. I went along and picked up a 8ight T and a XXX-4 G+ as well. So here what I started with, Losi 8ight-B 1.0 roller:

I immediately purchased the Tekno V3 kit as well as the Losi conversion kit from A-Main. Upon inspection of the 2 kits, I return the Losi kit and decided to install the Tekno. I also decided to bypass the clutch drive and use a long shank pinion for the direct drive setup. So I had to order the Pinion motor mount plates for the Tekno chassis. I got everything installed and painted up a new J Concepts 8ight E body for it.

Heres a couple close-ups:

Here's a couple of the complete system. Thank you Linc for some great Flight Power packs.

I hope to get some video of it at the track this Sunday. Overall it drives great. I'm impressed with the quality and durability of both Losi and Tekno part.

You will love it. Aint nothing like the e-8's. There tons of fun. Wouldnt trade mine for anything.

As long as you are using motor breaking why don't you move your ESC over in front of the motor, then just have your Rx in front of the battery, for that matter put your Rx in a traxxas radio box for safe keeping.

Another thought I had for anyone with long batteries or trying to keep the COG even lower.. if you move your ESC to the other side and remove that tekno plastic mount I think the "long" battery tray would fit backwards on the buggy, then just mount the Rx in an alt location if there wasn't room to squeeze in a sealed radio box (traxxas e-revo or emaxx) to protect.

Thanks Ian! I'm no professional tho. As long as its decent...lol

Stum, its TIGHT squeeze to mount the MMM in front the motor. I've been looking at that and doing what for the Rx. Another thing is I dont know if my battery leads will be long enough... I'll have to do some experimenting and placing things around to try out.

I'm pleased with it right now but I'll be trying a couple different things soon.

I looked into Stum's suggestion as I am working on a small/medium track 8ight buggy running direct-drive. Even the RX8 is a tight if not impossible fit between the pinion, diff mount, spur, and steering servo. I just kept it on the Tekno esc tray as that setup has worked for me going on a year now. If you come up with another setup Nitrostarter, post up some pics.

Wow, I took it to the track this morning for some more testing and tuning and I love this buggy. The performance is off the charts compared to my Jammin. I'm easily turning faster lap times by 3 seconds of more. I'm able to stay on the power more, fly better, land better.

Im running the 1Y 2200kv on 4s 5000mah 30C Flightpower cells and I got closer to 19 minutes of track time where as I was stuck at 13 minutes with my Jammin and 2650 combo. I know its a different system but the outcome is much better! Not to mention cold temps!

I'm still going to experiment with the ESC placement a bit but as of now, I like it and I should be able to do some decent racing.
