Destroyed 2200KV Motor Wires

I was running my E-revo along with the MMM 2200kv system and unfortunately I flipped over (without a body on) and ended up taking some insulation off of the motor wires.

Can I open up the motor casing and solder new 10 gauge wires to the motor? Or do I have to send it in?

Thanks

You could but I'm sure you'd kill your warranty - Is there enough wire to solder on the outside?

One of the reasons why solder lugs would have been nice...

just the insulation is gone? why not just put heatshrink over em?

That's what I did on my rustler. Works fine.

I had put heatshrink the wire when I had the same problem.

yeah the motor will still work. just shrink them

as long as not a single strand was damaged, just shrinkwrap it.

+1 on shrink wrap. Actually some other motors have only shrink tubing on their leads, like the original Neu or Medusa.

well. since the windings are soldered inside the motor. its just 10g wire thats involved a few strands can be broken and it will not effect performance.
theres hundreds of wires in that 10g.

Remove the motor, rotate it 90 -180 degree, re-attach = wires no longer the highest spot and therefore not prone to damage if you flip.
