Mini E-Revo Body,Wheels,Tire Options

Rims are HPI 35mm and have about 4-5mm more offset than stock.
FYI; The back of the rim where the hub is needs to be trimmed of about 1.5-2mm of material due to rubbing on axle carrier.

Tires that fit these rims are Losi Mini LST tires, Have Zombie Maxxes mounted and they look tight. Other tires shown are Proline 2wd Rear Buggy tires.
Body is a Losi Mini LST also, painted with automotive Urethane BaseCoat. The body was a creative tight fit but works and look well.
I installed a Castle Sidewinder ESC and my temps fell down to barely above ambiant and motor stays cooler also.

I just pulled the radio, motor and ESC out of one of my VXL E-Revos in anticipation of installing my new electronics. I've got the Sidewinder, CCBEC and Spektrum SR3500 in hand. I just ordered the motor I'm going to try, a Multiplex Permax BL-480/6D. It's 29.5mm x 46mm and 2100kv. I've used one of their higher kv motors in a Mini Quake SE in the past and it was stupid overkill on 2S and never got warm. This should perform well in the VXL E-Revo. If it does as well as I hope, I'll be ordering more as they're much cheaper than a Neu or Mega, ~$70 or so depending on where you buy it.

Now I just need to get some street treads for it and see if I can keep it on all 4's.

Just fyi, I have a couple of aveox 4 pole 28 series motors... XL cans, 2000kv, would be killer for 4-5s in one of these beasts, hell you could go to 6s if you like!

would a medusa 28-50 fit in the mini revo?

Bondonutz 07.06.2009 04:52 PM

Yes, but the rear shock tower might need a little bit of a dremel trim to get it to fit.

There is no 28-50 Medusa. They make a 28-40 which will fit. Their 28-56 is too long even with grinding the shock mount.

Yes, A 56mm can long is way to much. That would interfere with the mount screws.

Sorry for the late post but what kinda temps are you getting outta the sidewinder?

Bondonutz 08.06.2009 08:36 PM

I have a different motor now, 3300kv running 2s in Parallel w/the SW and my motor temps have yet to climb over 134F and the ESC stays ambiant temp Geared at 55/28. When running 3s the motor and ESC temps climb another 10F. These temps and gearing are what they are because I pretty much only run mine on the track.

Actually with a Tenebol (I think that's the name?) big block motor mount, a 36-50 will fit and so will a 28-56.

Baby got new shoes

After burning up a set of Bowties on and off the track thought I get something a little better suited for the occasional bash along with another set of BT's.
