Skimming 8T 1.0 rear gearbox

Ive got issues with a loose mesh in my rear gear box can you shim the diff or the pinion to tighten it up?

I've a little loose mesh too on my 8T and no problems for so far. Maybe you can check your diff inserts or bearings if they are oke. I don't use shims at all:angel:

get alu inserts

I just got an 8ight b and all my diffs seem a bit loose as well. Anyone know what size shims will be needed. Even my Center diff is a bit loose.

simple - outer bearing size x - 2mm so for center diff where you have 8x14 bearing I would get 12x14shims

Its an 8T 1.0 with a tekno conversion, Medusa 36 80 2000kv on 5s geared 13 X 48

I have the Alu Inserts
I have two shims (all I could fit) on the ring gear side of the diff
no shims on the pinion
It skips only when I mash the throttle

I'm wondering if the motors flexing the diff case
Or should I try shimming the pinion

May want to replace the diff case... mine got a little loose on the front and I ended up chewing up a front diff gear $$. Also just make sure the bearings are sound.. typically when slop develops you find your bearings are shot or on the way out, at least that is what I've seen more times than not.

That's a lot of motor for just about any RC vehicle. Maybe you need to add some punch control or you will probably keep over-powering the gear mesh.
