Raffle idea?
 

Just throwing this out there, but I was thinking if it would be a good idea to have a raffle here? Everyone who wants to participate can paypal whoever organizes it, and once a month, a raffle is drawn for the winner.

The prize can be an RCM gift certificate for the total amount collected (minus Paypal fees).

A lot of people can easily spare $5-$10 bucks, so this would be a way to help Mike out by increasing sales and give the lucky winners something for their raffle entrie(s).

Comments? Good idea? Bad idea?

Edit: Oh, and before this gets too serious, I'd have to OK this with Mike. I just want to get a feel for how many people would be in favor of this before I bother the busy cyclops. :smile:

Isn't a raffle a type of gambling? therefore would require a license to host one?

I know how you feel...I could have a 99.9% chance of winning something and I would still lose out to the .1%. As you said...my contribution to someone's rc collection:mdr:

Are we going to put X amt of names in a hat and pick one at random, so you can but as many places as you want for $5 each or just 1 entry?

I was envisioning an entry for each $5 you put in.

I'm in. Instead of $5 you could make it 5 "points" and maybe get around the license thing. :whistle:

On the gambling point, there was a raffle going on another message board, I frequent. Paypal however somehow figured it out, that it was for a raffle, and forced the payment returned, or suspension of the account. They ended up selling forum stickers, for $5 each, and that auto put you in the raffle. That way you did pay for something.
