battery wire size?

hi' i just ordered mike's motor mount, bayyery tray and a couple pinions for my mugen mbx5. already have a mamba monster with a 2650. i was wondering about running some of my 1/10th 7.4 batteries wired in series. the esc & motor have 10 gauge wires and the packs only have 14 gauge wire. is thi a problem or is it ok to run them? thanks for any help you can give me. i'm new to 1/8th electric.

14g is the smallest I would run, but in the past I have done so myself without any issues. Good solder joints are more important as they can create a bottle neck for the current, and you will notice any plugs or connectors at those points becoming hot. Lead free solder & a hot iron, and keep the wires as short as possible and you'll be fine
