A few questions...
Uhm so i have a few questions regarding this brushless lark...
1) my Trakpower 4900 2s lipos have recently puffed after charging and i do not know why. Is it still safe to use em?? They are only puffed about 1/8th inch but with no reason, the charger is always charging at 1c. 2) my lvc is set at 3.4v, is this enough or does it need to be higher? The truck is a savage x converted with an mmm 2200kv combo? 3) would it be ok to drill soem holes in the body shell's windshield to get some air flowing over the motor and esc.. Thanks guys |
Welcome to RCM.
1) No 2) 3.4 is quite high - so shouldnt be a problem at all. 3) Absolutley. You'll find quite a bit of disussions that have occured regarding reasons why packs puffed. Lots of speculation, 'cause unless these folks were right there with you, its hard to see and know all the facts. If for some reason you want to chase down the possible reasons your packs may have puffed, you'll need to provide more data, such as gearing, tires/wheels, how you were running it (always subject to individual users own pucker factor), charger uses, how you balance, etc. Did they both puff at the same time? If so, there was another instance of that happening last week. You'll find that thread in the "general forum". |
na they both puffed after a run at the same time, i think it was after the charge they puffed though im not sure... 3.4 v lvc is high and i may turn it down to 3.2 do you think that 3.2 would be better?

What is C-rating in your lipos? If its 15 or 20 then its abit low for such big truck.

25... cont, 35 peak, 50 max

Looks like your batt's should have been up to the task. But, sometimes these things do happen, no matter the precautions you take. |
