centered 2" high diff and mount
I need help finding a motor mount for my Tower terror conversion.
I looked thru all the different monmster mounts and can see there may be a few that are centered (up and down) , but can't tell how tall they are. Here's what I need. The bearings are popular 15 mm and the total height is about 2" or 50 mm. I want the bearing housing to be centered from top to bottom and I could use one that had a 1" dimension from one side even if I had to space the other side. Hole centers 22-23 mm (again centered with the bearing housing bore. Preferrably the motor would not be off-center either. Thanks if anyone would please measure thier mounts. |
Ofna mount looks centered , but with off-set motor http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=RCMCRT1
HB stadium 10 looks like it mat be centered diff , but off-set motor http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...d=rcmst10mount |
This ofna I'd like to get measured http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...od=rcmgtpmount
I can re-drill the one side that "has no legs" since I am using this sideways in -between the frame rails in the towerterror. (sideways) That's why I want it centered. It uses a straight shaft without u-jiont or bones. |
Losi muggy looks promising. http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...od=RCMmuggymnt
This looks best. http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...rod=RCMlrpZcar Again, I would appreciate if anyone has these (or others) if they can measure the height for me and verify a centered diff (between upper and lower flts) it would put the diff 1" from both sides in my app) If not perhaps I will try to get Mike to make me a mount by sending it in. |
Motor Mount dimensions
Maybe this is too complicated to explain. Change title to "motor mount dimensions" I have another project in the works that requires a similar setup.
Here's what I desire: Height of each motor mount (measured at the flats) Distance of each center hole (either off-set or distance from edge) Is it possible thay are all around 2" high? The mounting bolt centers and size ar of secondary importance. This may be good info used in combo with the slipperential. Thanks. |
I have a tower terror that I converted. I plan to use a losi motor mount, and just make up the space between the top of the mount and the side plate (tvp). I am also making new tvps, as I want the wheelbase a bit longer, and plan to use some dogbones that I have, they will dictate the wheelbase. This truck is a turd, but I like it anyway and plan to give it a new lease on life. Plus i lake making stuff.
Your best bet would be to buy a crt mount, as that is about the tallest mount Mike sells, and then modify it as necessary to fit. It uses 16mm bearings, that is the std, save for losi that uses 14mm bearings. |
