I phoned HPI and they said AM. i phoned my hobby shop and they are insisting that it is FM buy my crystals say AM 27MhZ on them and the reciever has 27mzh AM on it. im confused.

AM no question.

ok thanks. and the store is claimint that and i quote; " the momba monster max will not work with AM frequencies of the HPI TF-3 Transmitter". they obviously dont know what they are talking about.

Am and brushless are not the best combination, but can be made to work. I consider a radio upgrade a good idea, and you can get decent 2.4ghz setups for 100 bucks these days...

I dunno, everyone talks about how the stock radio is garbage...However I have only noticed glitching once.

Savage-Flux 07.24.2009 02:20 AM

fastbaja5b 07.24.2009 02:35 AM

never used the stock radio on mine, DX3S went in the day I got it.

Savage-Flux 07.24.2009 01:03 PM

is the futaba, FASST a good radio for it?

riverat1540 07.24.2009 01:10 PM

any spectrum sytem will be fine, so yes, also any fm will be fine as well, the glitching is caused by how your electronics are placed according to what is around them and sometimes you need to move things around to find a combo that works. like linc said u can find decent spectrum setups for about a hundred bucks these days that will suit ur needs just fine.

k thanks, i dont know why my hobby shop gets off thinking that it's FM?

LHS = only use them to get parts, not asking for advice or info; it saves time and also saves you getting fobbed off with poorly suited equipment for the task in hand.
