i think the took those ideas from this very forum! im considering the carbon fiber chassis. anybody have an opion? it looks SUPER light weight and have a SUPER low center of gravity.

8l for a savage. Bad idea.

boss 302 02.05.2006 02:14 PM

i dont think an 8l would have enough power for a savage and that conversion does look similar to the ones i have seen on this forum

an 8L just won't push a savage without getting hot. Run times would suck to.

Notice all the open space below the motor too, that's just a waste. Even before I put the FLM extended LCG chassis plates on my Savage, I had my motor mout as low as possible (under the spur actually), mounted to the purple anodized plate that the stock engine mounts with a piece of 1/8" alum. angle. They look to have used 1/4" or so, and it'd be real sturdy, but you also just don't need that much and it adds weight.

It's a good idea, and nice to see it kinda going mainstream........but.......I wish they'd done it better.
