Need Extensive help...

Ok, first of all, this will be a long a$$ post. Second, if all you are going to say is "buy a MMM" then don't bother.:diablo:

--My Setup--

E Revo
Novak HV pro 5.5
Spektrum DX3 (old model) and glitch buster cap
2s lipos in series. (4s)

--My Issue--

With everything hooked up, as soon as I blip the throttle, power will be cut to the Rx for 2-3sec. If I extremely smoothly apply throttle ever so gingerly, it doesn't happen. But, any sudden throttle input will cause me to lose Rx power.

To remedy this, I added a Rx battery pack plugged into the batt port on the spektrum rx. This has solved the glitch issue, but has created an even worse issue. The LVC no longer functions. it allows the lipos to drop to fatal levels without even notifying me in any way (yes LVC is turned ON). As soon as I unplug the Rx pack, bam, LVC kicks in.

--My Pleading--

If anyone has any Idea how to solve either of the issues, PLEASE chime in. I know it is not cutting out because of weak packs, because I am running 6500mah 30C lipos.

sounds like you didnt remove the red wire on the esc's radio plug

remove the wire and the lvc will work fine, and yes it is your batterys are the real problem

Ok, Don't buy a M.M.M.
But you'd be much happier if you did.

You could always go to the new RX8 system by Tekin. What brand of li-pos are you using?

whitrzac 07.25.2009 10:37 AM

are you pluging the batts in the corect spots on the esc, or are they series and on of the plugs on the esc jumped??

the novak BEC does not like 4s on one side...

No, that's not supposed to be done on the the Novak - or, if it was, Novak omitted this step from the "single pack" wiring instructions.

That's the purpose of running the Rx pack.

Did you do the "turn the esc switch on, then back off" when you first turned it on?

Also, this should be in the Novak forum - NovakTwo will tell you to email customer service with a detailed account of what is happening.

Funny you mention that, In my older HV instructions it's there. In the HV Pro instuctions I didn't see it, I still did though because I felt it's still nessasary and it worked fine. Untill I bought a M.M.M. and sold the HV immediately after.

I'm guessing maxamps based on the clamed capacity, c rating, and sig.

I'm guessing either your BEC is damaged in some way or your lipos aren't providing enough juice. They could be damaged too or they're jusy crap...

I am running 2 2s 5000mah 30c zippies in a series. I have also tried my buddies ma packs. si, if the red wire on the esc plug is removed, and rx pack is hooked up, the lipo cutoff will work???

suicideneil 07.25.2009 06:56 PM

The Hvmaxx BEC runs fine on a single 4s lipo, just a little warmer than normal- I can testify to that much.

Anyway, when running a seperate BEC or rx pack, the esc should be left turned off, or remove the redwire from the rx plug (dont cut it, just tape over it), then the LVC should function correctly.

Im curious though, the sudden loss of power whehn you mash the throttle really shoudlnt be happening, sounds like the LVC is kicking in prematurely- how do you have the system wired exactly (the LVC is internal right?), normal setup with 2 sets of battery leads?

Brushless Moose 07.25.2009 10:30 PM

Even when the LVC is turned off, it cuts if I tap the throttle. not even mash! That is how I know it is not because the batts are not up to snuff. it takes very very little to make it cut out. I have the ESC switch turned off and the rx pack plugged in and the lvc does NOT work.

suicideneil 07.26.2009 11:00 AM

Hmm. In that case, it sounds like a faulty esc rather than anything else, especially if it still cuts out with the lvc taken out of the equasion..

Brushless Moose 07.27.2009 01:07 AM

That is what i was thinking. time for a new speed control i guess.

starscream 07.27.2009 01:31 AM

If you have 2 2S packs, then I'd strongly recommend running them in the standard config. Running the packs in a 4S config is only asking for problems and should only be utilized if you are running a single 4S pack.

Running a 12v fan directly off the batts also helps.

Brushless Moose 07.27.2009 04:23 AM

I am running them in a standard config.
