E-MAXX Transmision question
HI all, I f you take the shifting servo off, will the transmision stay in one gear? Will it hurt the trans.?:032:
no it wont hurt it. just have to lock it into one or the other. i would lock it into second for all practical purposes. just push it in and figure out a way to make it stay.
Thanks i think Gray tape might hold it till I get the GR 1 speed kit and aluminum half case.
what i did to reduce weight and rotating mass was take out the 1st speed idler, left the shart, jb welded the shifter engager thingy to the second speed gear, and then shaved off all the teeth and stuff on the 1st speed gear to were its just a couple of bearings and a peice of plastic to hold them in and use it as a spacer, and removed the shifter fork. this takes out ALOT of the slack in there. youll notice what slack i am talking about if you turn the spur while is sitting still. that slack is in the shifter engager thingy and the gear.

Yes I know what you are talking about, But I think I will keep all the gears that I dont use in the single speed so I can put the two speed back together. I might want to use a two speed at some time in the future. I am almost finished putting me all aluminum E-MAXX together and for now(a few days) I am going to use the Titans till I get the chassis set so when I put the 9920 and 8XL on at least the truck will drive straight. And I will still probably lose control at 40 mph and trash it on the 1st run:dft004: :027:
