Just buy a RCM end plate - You can use the 2 other screw holes and gain 4 more...

either use the other 2 holes or do what i did and tap the holes out to M4

Make sure to use the right screws. I thought I was using m3 screws, but they were a fraction off and I stripped the threads on my medusa without much effort. I'm getting a front endplate and new screws from mike so hopefully I'll be up and running again.

I'd drill out to 4mm then...

What's_nitro? 08.02.2009 08:12 PM

I'd stop doing back flips.... :mdr: Even the 4mm thread will strip eventually under that level of stress.

Yeah, just get a 4mm drill and tap. 4mm is more surface area of threads so it will be a bit stronger, but as others already mentioned it won't be bulletproof if you abuse it.

I bought a nice Dubro metric drill and tap set for pretty cheap. It has 2, 2.5, 3, 4, and 5 mm drill and taps and a decent collet-style tap handle. Or you can buy them individually. Taps are an often overlooked tool that should be in everybodies toolbox.

I'm assing you're running a 1521/1527 in your lst, and those are long motors. I would make a rear support once you get the threads worked out. Something that clamps on and mounts to somethng strong is ideal.
