My Uber Revo..
So here is my Pletty/Schulze Revo, pretty well finished but I'm waiting on my Tekno carriers, Acer ceramics and a few odds and ends. The next step is the GorillaMaxx G3R chassis/Hybrid Diffs...need something to do over the winter (there are some yellow leaves already up here..)
http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/p...y/DSC01192.jpg And with the LVC installed: http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/p...y/DSC01221.jpg And a couple of Bodies: http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/p...y/DSC01195.jpg http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/p...Bricky/013.jpg All comments welcomed, I need more ideas! Thanks! |
Sweet ride man... what cells you running with it? that Pletty should be real big on power with that chassis.
Alien |
Looks like the BigMaxximum, am I correct? Should be a beast in the E-Revo. Nice power plant there.
Better snatch up a G3R chassis as soon as you find one. They aren't made anymore. |
Yup, thats the BigMaxximum and 18.97KW esc. I have been using some trakpowers but have just ordered a couple of sets of these: https://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/...idProduct=9463
I haven't used zippys before, so I thought I'd roll the dice, but I plan on getting some polyquests to give the pletty the diet it needs! That sucks about the G3R, why did they stop making them, they look awesome! |
Those Turnigy's are nice! They perform great, as well as the polyquests in my opinion. You should be able to fit those in the Revo trays and run 2 of those in parallel for my amp capacity as well as run times.
I have had quite a few Zippy, Rhino's turnigy's. All good cells and well worth the price!! It's been a while now since the G3R was discontinued. Their main target was those wanting to convert the Nitro Revo, and when the E-Revo came out, the market segment fell. Some still wanted them but no demand like before. |
Ahh..well that sucks, I like the look of the chassis...I'll start looking around...
Good to hear about the lipos, the LHS prices are crazy compaired to any OHS. |
Hit mike up (rc-monster store owner) i believe he has one...
|
Is there any downfall to the G3R Carbon from the stocker? I suppose if I did get one, there wouldn't be any replacement parts incase of a wreck huh?
edit: I have dropped Mike a line to see if he had a spare lying around *fingers crossed* |
Yep, the lack of available parts is about the only downfall.
the G3R is a real change of handling characteristics. Very good track machine! |
Well the search continues...until then the tekno carriers are shipped..more to come..
|
Nice revo you got there! I like the motor.

The RPM arms can flex a lot and kill the CVD's - I could the traxxas arms with extended rears held up better
|
If you ask someone nicely that already has a G3RCF chassis they could send you duplicate drawings. Than all that is needed is to buy a 3mm sheet of CF and start cutting. You will also have all the spares you need than. The other pieces of the chassis should still be available from Gorillamaxx or maybe mike could mill you off a duplicate or two. Besides the CF all the alloy needed is the front and rear skid and the X braces. As far as the spacers go you could buy some ally tube and drill, drill and tap where needed. There are only 12 of them. One length would do.
PM me for drawings Here is my G3R build Thread http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22158 |
I also have a bigmaxximum. IT is going into a truggy project i am doing. I have the schulze 24.150WK for that.
|
Arkt1k> I have heard that too, but so far so good, I have a few spare driveshafts/a arms kicking around in case of emergency!
SV6000> Thanks! I will be pm you soon, I'm waiting to see if Mike has one kicking around, if not then it looks like I'll be making one! |
