scale xxx-t CORR truck
i am making a CORR truck out of an old xxx-t that i had laying around. i am using a wheely king axle 4 linked to the back of the xxx-t chassis cut in half.
parts list

use the wheels from the sc10, looks good so far :)
|
Will the sc10 wheels fit on the front of the xxx-t? And will they fit the wheely king axle?
|
Nice!
Building a tube frame to mount shocks on? |
No tube frame, I am going to cut up a piece of aluminum that will mount to where the upper links are mounted to. But a tube frame would be cool
|
Get the idea from RCCrawler.com? There pretty badass. I was going to build one at one time but never got around to it.
|
yep, thats where i got the idea. any one have any ideas on how i could shorten the width of the front of the xxx-t?
|
Shorter arms ?
Possibly the XXX4 arms will work ? Looks dam cool so far, anxious to see this take shape. Rock on. |
I'm gona be on vecation in california until this saturday and then I'm going to mopar nationals on Sunday so it will be about a week until it starts coming together

Here is you a soon to be option from RC4WD. Uses slash front end parts and a Axial tranny and WK axle. There alsl making there own axle for it. Its going to be nice like all the other stuff but probably isnt going to be cheap.

Man, don't I feel ahead of the game
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14174 That one's getting reworked this week. Your truck looks like it should come out great  The Wheely King axle is IMO a far better choice than the Axial axle. To get Slash/Slayer width I used STRC axle wideners and Slayer wheels on STRC 14mm hex adapters. This might not work out right for you because SC10 wheels are the only option that might work for you without modifications. Unless you can find a company (Jconcepts?) that makes wheels of the same style for the SC10 and Slayer? The only constructive criticism I have to offer is on your chassis upper link mounting points, that might hold for a crawler but you'll want some bracing there for a truck which will be doing 30+MPH. |
i got the ax-10 trans yesterday.heres a pic of how its all gona be layed out. that is not the esc or motor i will be using. and there will be bracing where the upper links are. maybe i could use wheels from the losi strike or the losi desert truck?

More pics! Liking the idea so far, but I'm wondering how you're planning on mounting rear shocks.
|
right now im cutting up some aluminum with my dremel for shock mounts
|
heres a pic of what the shocks will be mounted to
