Ebay...to give or not to give....

So i know there are tons of ebay threads but i wanna see if my actions are justified.

I purchased some shocks and everything went fine. The electronic notification was done the next day. Notification was July 24. I waited until July 30 before contacting the seller, because the tracking thing said USPS never received anything. He told me the package was sent on the 24th.

I called USPS and they assured me nothing has been received on that tracking number. I gave the seller benefit of the doubt and waited...and waited...

I messaged him back on AUG 1st to tell him to contact his postal place to see what is going on and he refused. just said he was a "big business and knew what he was doing"

Yesterday...August 4th finally something has been recorded in his same state. So thats 11 days that USPS had it...and it didnt leave the state?
I called once again called USPS and they assures me the package was not received on the 24th

He is now calling me a liar when i confronted him today. Keeps saying "we are a big business and we know what we are doing"
In general his responses make me wanna punch him in the face.....or even a small child....
Am i justified to negetive feedback his @$$? can he negative me?....sorry im a negative feedback virgin

I WANT MY SHOCKS NOW:diablo::diablo:

He can try and - feedback, but you can easily appeal with those sorts of responses and have it removed. To be slow is one thing, but to be slow and act like a DBag is a whole other thing. F' it, post up a -, he's earned it (after you get your parts that is...)

He cannot leave negative for you regardless the situation. Sellers can no longer do that. At the very least, he should get 1 star on his detailed seller retaing for "Shipping Time".

that may be what i do....i yea....i forgot he didnt respond to my first message. only responded after i threatened to contact paypal, ebay, and my credit card company.

I'd give him a neutral, as long as you get the parts. Just write something like "extremely slow shipping/bad attitude".

gixxer 08.05.2009 04:29 PM

as skeyllo said sellers can no longer leave negative feedback. I dont agree with the policy but they changed it probably 6 months ago.

you can hurt him more by the 5 star rating things. for big sellers, the lower the rating they get, the more they have to pay ebay in fees. even a 3 stars "neutral" will be quite damaging. and besides, its anonymous so it isnt like he could - you back...

Finnster 08.05.2009 06:38 PM

That is true w/ the ratings changes.. I should have said even under the old rules it wouldn't have mattered bc you can appeal anyway.

The stars do hurt a lot as they also dictate the seller fees they get. If they fall below a certain amt, they get charged more.

Personally I tend to have not a whole lot of patience w/ dicky sellers. I fugure if there is a problem and they are ignoring me and/or giving me attitude for something that was clearly their fault and making me chase them around to get the things I paid for... then screw them, they earned it and by letting them off the hook you are screwing over the next buyer by not exposing their bad practice.

Depends on how bad you think the actions were. A neutral can be harsh too, and the 1 star ratings do add up quick (tho others don't see ea rating)

I believe his only recourse against you is that he can ban you from purchasing/bidding on his auctions again, which wont really be an issue if you dont want to buy from him again.

IMHO, he earned a negative ratng

Sounds like a prime candidate for a negative rating to me!

I would of course wait until the part is in hand.

That kinda of attitude towards a buyer deserves a low star shipping rating imo, provided you've given all the details and arn't withholding anything:oops:

I would be pissed if I had to deal with a seller like that. Give him a negative rating (after you get your part). He's earned it. Oh and let us know who it is so we can all avoid him.

It seems to me that it's a easy call, you did your part by paying for something and the seller didn't by not getting it to you. If he's so big and good at shipping then dropping off a package and getting a valid tracking number shouldn't be that difficult. That's why there is negative feedback so you can warn others of your experience with this seller.
Just my .02 cents. Good luck to you.

yea thats what i was thing, but i just started thinking about the what ifs...like what if he did drop it of and USPS decided to no move it. But as time went by...i dont think USPS would leave a package layin around for 11 days befo moving it......
then the responses i got that says "your wrong" "what usps does with the package after we drop it off is not our problem"...didnt help either
