Vacation!

I'm officially on vacation! Five whole days without work. However it's also going to be five days without RC and possibly without RC-M:no: I'm going to the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen, leaving about 11AM Thur and get home sometime Monday. Hope all is well on here over the next few days and that I don't miss much. My iphone is on it's way out ( original iphone - 2 years old) so I have a back up phone to bring with me that I'll prolly have to use.

Jokes on you! Watkins glen is one of the road courses that Nascar runs.

Some like NASCAR, and some don't, to each there own. I like it and I will have a blast just as I did last year, hopefully more fun since I have more alcohol this time!

I don't know anything about NASCAR, but how fast do those car go? (NASCAR isn't very popular in Europe...)

PBO 08.06.2009 06:12 AM

Between 100 & 200mph depending on the track...I think?

shaunjohnson 08.06.2009 06:20 AM

faster than my revo that's for sure

E-Revonut 08.06.2009 08:38 AM

On the superspeedways they can exceed 200MPH, on some tracks like daytona wher they have a restrictor plate under the carb they are still just under 200. However on a road course their average speeds are much closer to 100mph

Sorry to hear the bad news, I'm hope the weekend goes by quick for you. Three days of Nascar....just brutal. Lots of alcohol would be a must.
Kidding of course. Are there other races or just practice, qualifying and the race?

Nascar

NASCAR has become the number one fan based motor sport in the world. The shear number of fans at a NASCAR event top any other motor sport by thousands. The Super speedways can draw upwards of 100,000 people to a single event. So say what you will about the sport, but numbers do not lie.

Personally I like watching the road races on TV, because at the track you cannot see the entire track and end up missing 3/4 of the race due to limited viewing. I like going to the Super Speedways, because they are 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 miles long and you can see the entire track from just about anywhere you sit. Still there is no substitute for the big screen TV and a Lazyboy chair to watch from. No one stands in front of you blocking your view, and you can even take a nap if you wish without being disturbed. Go 88.

Have a good vacation. I went to a nascar race before...it didn't really do anything for me but if its your thing then hey.

magman 08.06.2009 03:32 PM

I know going to the race is cool but learning how each car works and the time these crews put into them is just amazing

Are you kidding me?!?!? Those are just the ones with out Big Screens and Lazy-boys on the porch..... Huh, Jerry?

Sound like a great vacation! I'd like to go see one someday. Nevada would probably be the closest for the rednecks up North.
