Another melt-down.....i cant believe yet......
My setup
Chassis RC8 Batt Neu Energy 25/50C 4s 5000mah MMM with 2650kv motor Diff 43/10 Center Diff 46/18 MMM Setup Punch control 100% Start Power low Timming 5 (or zero) Brake 60% Reverse 50% no mech brakes Is this it??? I am missing something??? 45mph car to run on open park, some jumps...... I made some speed runs in the park, very nice, but the is not that fast ok, only have a great acceleration, and jumps, hi jumps, but all made perfectly......and after the last jump, i felt in the air the car didnt corrected as i wanted, landed ok, but the car was still after landing, tried twice punch the throttle and start running as crazy because i already know what would happen, unfortunately i didnt get there in time, and needed to wait until fire stops...... batt conector was unsoldered on battery side batt cable inside MMM was unsoldered 1 motor wire got unsoldered inside the esc I have contacted CC and I will send to them the esc..... I have raced this car on a 46/16 gear on a very tight track, with many jumps and it was Zero problems, and only warm temps.....i dont know..... Any input or comment on this would be great........ |
When racing, you are generally smoother with the throttle. Rolling on the throttle out of turns and then braking into one and transitioning back onto throttle after the apex, etc.
When bashing, you typically just stab it whenever you can and hope the truck doesn't flip backwards. Because of this, your stuff generally heats up more when bashing. I no longer really bash my G2R anymore because while it would hold up perfectly fine for track running, when bashing it, I always break something in the drivetrain. The reason? It is a long truck with a long wheel base and is extremely hard to wheelie. At the track, I run on dirt, so no matter what there is always a traction limit. When I bash, I usually run on street or grass and traction is pretty high. So when I launch at full throttle from a stop, all the stress goes to drivetrain because the tires don't spin and the truck doesn't wheelie. |
Random failure ftw :yipi:
Assuming nothing got caught in the driveline causing a power surge from the esc > motor to get it spinning again, just sounds like the esc let go after the last jump. Was it bottoming out at all/ harsh landings? |

I have almost the exact setup except I use 40c 5200 4s and 15/46 gearing on a medium sized track. I use 6.5 bullets on the battery. Ive been using this for pure racing for 4 months and I dont have any problems.
What connectors are you using on the battery? |

traxxas is supposed to do many things.......:whip:
big bullet connectors maybe improve current transfer......i have 6.0mm..... |
