What could it be???

I had my X1 crt out driving today and she was running smooth as heck. It was doing just about double standing backflips on 4s!!! I went to take off and there was a chrunck ... it moved an inch and died... I brought it in thinking ESC... so I hooked up a new batt and the ESC is 100% fine... phewwww (it's got a mamba monster 2200kv combo in it) I took my volt meter to it and the batt is reading 0 volts??? I checked the meter on the other batt and got 16.4 volts, so the meter is good, I then cut off the deans thinking it was my newbish solder job and still 0 volts at the wires!!! What could it be???

could have broken a solder joint inside the pack. No puffing or damage to the pack correct?

check voltage across the balance connector.

It's plausible..

It's a zippy flightmax ..... I was figuring a blown tab inside :oh: No puffing or damage to the pack at all it's only the second or third time I've used this pack too..... voltage across the pack is cell 1 - 3.9v, cell 2 - 3.9v, cell 3 - 0.0v, cell 4 - 3.9v.... my other flightmaxx pack puffed it's 4th cell on my first run with it.... all the other cells where still registering 3.9v too...... ugghh looks like i got 2 from a bad batch. I have 4 other zippy batts and they are all fine and have been run a 12+ times each with no issues. I think I'll stick with buying 2s 's and run them in series so that if one cell goes bad I'm not out a full 4s lipo.....

If you feel brave, you could disasemble the damgaed lipos, and either reapir the broken tabs (if possible), or remove the dead cells and reconfigure them (4s > 3s and so on).

Linc can guide you as he has experience with these packs.
