Why Electric?

why do most of you guys like electric no gas i mean gas is able to go through puddles and stuff electric couldn't you'd have to be carefull is it the speed? or the maintance bcuz unlike some ppl i'd rather play around and use what i learn on a gas car

boss 302 02.08.2006 08:57 PM

electric is more efficient quieter and is easier to work on and you dont have to by expensive gas for them

avery4jc 02.08.2006 09:02 PM

Plus keep in mind just because your power comes from a tiny gas engine you DO still have electronics on you truck. Keep that in mind next time you go through a puddle!
All it would take is for your throttle/brake servo to get dunked without protection and there goes your nitro truck screaming down the street.
One last thing to remember is that electric motors can run in water w/ cleaning, for that matter some guys used to break them in under water, yeah under. Where as w/ nitro engines they will rust and die after just one puddle if you don't clean them.
Run what ya' like but those are the facts vital.

Electric is is just better

I have a nitro truck. I have a few electric. I like the electric in some ways and nitro in some. The electric is just instant power. There is no wind up.

well, i just like gas bcuz i can maintance it more i like to play with things on my car see what effects what, etc..... i just think electric is just upgradable and i went through puddles half the size of the truck nothing was damaged

My biggest problem with nitro when I ran it was the fuel. On my vehicle, it made a mess everywhere and was a pain to clean up. With electric, the only thing to clean up is dirt, whereas with nitro I would have dirt caked onto parts from nitro fuel. I have other reasons, but they have already been stated.

really the own similarity that i can find between a car and a nitro that electric doesnt have is that a car and a nitro rc both have a carb and gas tank

i heard of a guy that dropped his cigarrete on the body of his car and and it burst into flames because of nitro fuel spilled on the body

That would suck! Of course, batteries can catch on fire too... It's less likely than nitro fuel, as long as everything is done properly.

boss 302 02.08.2006 09:37 PM

nitro fuel is definately easier to catch fire than batteries as a few of my friends have experimented with the explosive properties of nitro fuel

I started with gas and now having done electric I think electric is much easier to trouble shoot and keep running at its peek ( no carb adjustments etc.). Also you can tweak your setup and runnig gear at your kitchen table or shop bench. Try firing up a nitro anywheres but outside and see how long before you get overcome with fumes :036: . Performance is also better, these brushless beasts just flat get up and go when you hit the throttle. Also with my new lipo setup I can get 20+ minutes of runtime and that's with it geared to hit the 40mph mark. Like avery4jc said "run what ya like" but me personnaly having played with both I would never go back to nitro. One last thing is staying in the good graces of your negihbors if your so inclined to do that. :027:

boss 302 02.08.2006 09:50 PM

especially for me after seeing these brushless beasts i never will go nitro but run what ya like

coolhandcountry 02.08.2006 09:59 PM

I have ran nitro. I left it for a while and got back into electric. I have bought another nitro since. I have a few things about the nitro I like. Just like electric more. There is more likes about electric than dis likes.
