Anyone have the KD LCG E-Maxx chassis?

I was wondering if anyone here is using a Kershaw Designs LCG E-Maxx chassis. I did a search with no luck. If anyone has one for their Maxx, please post some pictures. And what do you think of the chassis? Strong, weak, its great, it sucks? Thanks for any info!

A guy over at the traxxas forum bought one....

He said basically, its sturdy as such, but the quality of fit & finish was not too good.

Tranny wouldnt mount flat/flush with the chassis rails without some grinding, and as you can see from its pictures, Dan doesnt know how to use a tap set, so instead its held together with nuts and bolts, not terribly high quality looking. Works fine though, but I would rather spend the money on an FLM chassis, and then modify it like so:

(you can use an aluminum plate ofcourse to save money vs carbon fibre).

Very simple to do and wil give exactly the same look ad effect, only, better.... :yes:

Dan (Kershaw) is a good bloke though for what it matters.

I just got a g-4 chassis and all I can say is I really like how its layed out. The assemby seems really sturdy. I also have a older g2 chassis on my setup now and I think it is a beter product then the kershaw chassis. The kershaw chassi I saw was real basic and look like they didnt take time to refine it imho. Heres my g2 below:

This is it with the UE vbs towers on it:

G4 would be preferable to the KD chassis, for quality and looks, given they are the same price near enough, but the FLM is much cheaper, and a sheet of 3mm Alloy wouldnt be all that expensive = still much cheaper overall.

KD = $179.99
FLM = $104
G4 = $176

Other than the fact the motor tranny position isnt lowered at all, that custom FLM carbon fiber chassis is really nice. Most people probably would like to save some coin but that flm cf chassis probably cost double what a g-maxx cost. Whats your time worth fabbing all that up? plus if you mess up your screwed. Most people dont have the tools required to do it that nice either. It maybe cost you $40 more dollars in the end for the g-4 but imho its worth it.

That is true, that is true.
