The best 1/8 brushless buggy?
I have a E-Revo Brushless edition and 6 1/5 gasoline powered trucks (1xFG Leopard, 3xHPI Baja 5B, 2xMCD Ultimate). All are great fun but now I want to try a 1/8 brushless buggy.
I have read a bit and I do have some favourites already but to keep this an open discussion I will not mention these. So... What do you see as the number one 1/8 brushless buggy car on the market? Please keep it to facts. I just want your view and input based on the experience you have with these cars. Note: I drive on race tracks only. No bashing. |
buggies are buggies. they are all about the same.
but a few stand out from the crowd. there is the losi 8ight-e 2.0 for $900 comes with esc and motor. ARR there is the RC8e for about $400 electrics are required the OFNA hyper 9e is $450 and sports a racing design ready to take on anything then you have your budget buggys the caster ex-1 roller is $250 its nice but needs every thing. the hotbodies Ve8 is new on the block and is $300 based on the D8 the OFNA LX-1 is cheap $200 but is not a durable design, |
The Hyper 9e seems like a real good buggy, designed from the ground up for electric power. Good setup, balance, and OFNA quality.

i love the 8ight. horizon owns losi and I never have to hunt for parts. win win situation
|
*8ight, tons of parts support and with the center diff off set, you have plenty of battery room.
|
8ight's are nice, but I love my Hyper 9e.

CEN Matrix Buggy very well made and very durable :great:

Losi 8ight
|
I had it boiled down to the 8ight and the Hyper 9e but found out that Losi uses imperial units for hardware. So I am going for the Hyper 9e.
Appreciate the input! |
+1 for the 8ight! :yipi:

i have owned 2 8ights and they are great, easy to get parts and upgrades, but i hate that they use standard hardware. why they dont use metric is beyond me.
about 2 weeks ago i saw that hyper 9e and i have to say it is probably the most impressive looking brushless "factory" kit. it has actually been built as a 1/8 electric instead of being converted from a nitro. plus you are able to run mech. brakes if you wish, which the other factory electrics dont give you that option and mech brakes are a great benefit, especially if you are used to having mech brakes with all your gas cars. i would say the hyper 9e is a great choice. ofna parts and hop ups are not hard to find either and are interchangeable with many of their other models. |

What I think is totally rediculous is the fact that the hyper 9e has no mudguards. It looks like an unfinished project to me. Beside that and the fact that the wing and wing mount is one piece, it looks like a great buggy.
+1 for the 8ight though. Extremely durable, well weight balanced, great parts support, and the best looking buggy imo. Parts support is a real help btw. The other day I was racing and some how a cvd pin broke and lost the coupling cylinder. So glad the hobby shop had that tiny part in stock or else my race day would have been over. |
Another one for the matrix.. I love it.. Cheap$, strong, reliable and snot load of parts for a great price...

+1 My losi was nice but I love my 9e. My only real complaint is the body is to wide for the chassis. |
