Just another buggy conversion

Here are some pics of my MBX5.
The pics really don't do it any justice, especially the paint job looks much better in real live.

I got it used from Starscream, and gave it a good make-over.

Looking good Daf. Did you do the paint job?

Dafni 02.14.2006 06:57 AM

No, paint job was done by a friend of Starscream.

But the wiring is my job...wait, what wires? :004:

and again...

Nice!!!!!! What XL is that (kv?)

Dafni 02.14.2006 04:20 PM

Thank you!

It's an 8XL, 1600and something KV. Only the test dummy, though. Will bust out a Lehner when the weather get's better (Lipo)

Serum 02.14.2006 04:22 PM

6S of maxamps right?

Dafni 02.14.2006 04:30 PM

Yeah, and/or 5S. And a 1950/8.

A much smaller motor would do in a buggy, but it's just "too light" with lipos, so I had to compensate with a heavy motor. LOL

coolhandcountry 02.14.2006 07:22 PM

The bottom chasiss is that custom built? It don't look factory. Looks pretty good.

MetalMan 02.14.2006 07:45 PM

Could you get a close-up of the motor mount? It looks very nice and clean BTW.

Mike.L 02.14.2006 07:51 PM

i love this truck because of 2 things:
1. IT'S LOOKING CLEAN NO DIRT AND NO WIRES EVERYWHERE! nice!
2.IT"S BRUSHLESS!!!!!

A close up of the mount? Not a problem, but it might take some time. I need to borrow a digicam. Maybe over the weekend, okay?

Thanks for the comments!

I like the wiring job a lot, will be hard to surpass it on the G3R.

dabid 02.15.2006 03:16 AM

Wow, pure sweetness! For some reason I thought you'd finished this already, not sure why, but good to hear it'll be running soon.

Dafni 02.15.2006 03:54 AM

It IS running, I use it to test different motors. But unfortunately it is still too cold for Lipos here, so I have to make do with my Nickel cells.

And yeah, it WAS running a while back, but with a mess of a wire job... can't have this, gave me sleepless nights ;)

And yeah, Leroy, this chassis is a custom job. Done by Starscream, I just added some bends and the black color.
