How do I check a used brushless motor I just recieved?

I just got a used real neu 1515 1.5 d off ebay and I was wondering how to check it. It looks a little worse for wear and I just want to check it out. I noticed the resistance on the magnet definitely is not as much as my castle 1515 1y but I don't know if that even matters. I would like to freshen it up with some new bearings. I also noticed that it has bigger screws (3.5mm or 4mm) than the 3mm the castle accepts, is that normal? Is there a way to check the resistance on the windings or something & what should it be?.

smell it. you'll know if it got hot. if it never got hot you should be good. some real neu's came w/ 4mm screws. it's spelled "definitely". think of it as a "finite" answer:intello:

Yea I know my spelling sucks! I am too lazy to use spell check lol. It smells like fabreeze j/k lol, actually it doesn't smell burnt at all. What about the Resistance when you turn it I only have 1 other motor so I really don't know if it makes a difference. Oh yea! should I be able to screw the end bell on the pinion side off by hand? Should I put a drop of blue loctight on it. EDIT: actually I just read another thread that answers the resistance question.

resistance of the shaft turning or between the winds? shafts will feel different with different winds.

did you get an answer to the resistance between windings? I'm curious myself. Link?

Definitely loctite the endbell.

Actually I meant the resistance of the magnetic field as you turn the rotor. Sorry.
