Warrior brakes weak?
 

I've just noticed that the reverse brake on my 7020 is much much stronger than my forward brake. When driving forward, if I slam on the brake nothing much happens (the are brakes, but very weak), but when driving in reverse and slamming forward the truck stops very quickly and then moves forward.
Just wondered if anyone else has this problem, and if it is normal for warriors. Or is it my error.

Just FYI, there are no "reverse" brakes. It just kicks in forward throttle (unless BK controllers are different than the other sensorless controllers I own). If your "forward" brakes are weak, it may have something to do with your radio setup. Have you tried reprogamming the Warrior 7020?

There were 9918 controllers out a year ago that had a problem with brake fade, and I was one of the unfortunate ones to receive one.

In fact, Metalman, the BK controllers I know have this revers brake. If you run reverse, you have a nice proportional brake by applying forward on the trigger.

Yh, exactly. The point I'm trying to make is the brakes are MUCH stronger when I'm reversing than when I'm going forward. I'll try reprogramming.

I know the brake FETs have to take a lot of stress. Maybe one of yours got tired and died?

I found what the problem was. I use the stock TQ3 radio that comes with the T/E-Maxx, and I had the trigger (throttle) set to 70/30 - ie. 70% of throttle movement was for forward motion, and 30% was backwards. I changed it to 50/50, and it sorted the problem out. I've know got much stronger breaks and a quicker reversing speed, only less control for forward motion.

Now that you have the setting at 50/50, you might be able to get a bit more control in forward by turning the throttle trim all the way. It's really not supposed to be used that way, but it'll give a bit more control until you get a new radio...

I understand what you mean. What I meant was that now with it set at 50/50, theres less far for the trigger to travel in forward motion. Therefore it is less precise.

True. Sounds like it's time for a new radio...
