Another E-XT8

Just want to share with you my coverted XT8 and ask few Q's (thanks for this forum I made the conversion)
My setup - Monster motor mount
- EZRUN 80A combo w/2350KV motor
- 11T mode 1 gear
- 5000mAh 20c zippys.

I'm already runing this setup for more then a month on the track. The truck is handling very good and its very relaible to me so far, the speed and power are good and I don't need more then that.

I do have few issues that I need to address:
- Zippys are too warm at the end of each session, I will probably switch to 25C or even 30C zippys, please advise if 25C is enough.

- Motor is hot too, around 150F at the end of 20min session and two fans attached to it. Its very hot right now in our area, ~95F at noon. Any recommendation for a better motor that runs cooler with the 80A EZRUN ESC?

- The pinion gear it getting loose, I'm using med tread lock but its still not enough, any other tips to keep it in place?

Here is my E-XT8 on our local track:

Nice video! Looks like a really cool track. Gotta use a lot of control not to overshoot all those jumps, I'd like to see a video of a real race...You drove it well.

150 degrees is NOT too hot after 20 mins! That's pretty cool in my book.

On the pinion, do you have a flat spot on your motor shaft?

Thanks for your comments.
So is it safe to run at 150 for long time? I do have 2 fans on the motor heat sink, if one of them fail I'm sure the temp will go up to 160-170.
I want to a have a backup motor that can run cooler with the EZRUN 80A (same performance).
The ESC is running cool at around 110.

As for the shaft I do have flat spot on it.

Here is racing video from our track per your request (its Nitro..)

Another cool video, I can't believe how wide some of those lanes are!

150 on the motor is quite good. Even 170 is not bad...race it!

If you have a flat, I'm surprised the pinion set screw is giving you trouble. In the old days, I used to drill a small dimple on the shaft but that was on motors that didn't have the flat.
